We are concluding this years’ edition of MANIAC with an exhibition at Wrocław Tech. You can see the Top 3 works, as well as 32 other pieces of microscopic art chosen for the exhibition by our members at SKS (Strefa Kultury Studenckiej, C-18) on the ground floor. The works will be displayed there until December 8.
The results of the 2025 edition of MANIAC are here!
It has been an incredible contest with outstanding turnout. We have received a staggering 113 artworks from 42 authors! From this artful cornucopia our association’s members selected 19 gems to be exhibited in Świdnicka street next to the Market Square. The exhibition pleased the eyes of Wrocław residents for a whole week in September, while the remaining pieces will adorn the campus of Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The date and place of the exhibition will be revealed later.
The top 3 works in this year’s contest are:
1stplace – Sherlock Holmes on the Nano Trail by Nandhini Ravindran, University of Vienna2nd place – Cerebral Maniac by Priya Sagar, Wrocław University of Science and Technology3rd place – Frozen Lattice by Michał Ozga, Wrocław University of Science and Technology
Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all participants. You can see the rest of the works here.
It may well be the middle of summer, but scientists and artists alike, know no rest! Our creative energy explodes like a summer lightning storm and it may only be appeased by a soothing prospect of fame, glory and… prizes 😉
We hereby open the registration for this year’s edition of our MICROSCOPIC ART NON-LIMITED INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL CONTEST!
You can find the registration form under the link below.
PhoBiA starts a new chapter in its history: we want to retire the old logo of our association and replace it with a new, modern design. We would like to ask our current and prospective members to help us create it!
We will award prizes to the best designs. And one of them will be chosen as the new logo of PhoBiA!
We welcome all submissions. At this stage your design does not have to be perfect, aligned, or a vector image. We will contact the author of the winning design and determine the final form of the logo together.
Useful information
Our current logo comes in two forms:
The banner form:
The square form:
You can choose to design either a banner or square logo or both.
We would like the new logo to have our name – PhoBiA, but not the full name. As we primary use it on conference posters or slides, the letters of the full name get too small.
We would like the new logo to reflect our scientific interests which include : microscopy, liquid crystals, optics, spectroscopy, fluorescence, structural biology, medical applications of light, nanomaterials.
We ask that the logo be your original work, and not constitute of pieces of someone else’s intellectual property.
It is with immense pleasure that we reflect on this year’s edition of our Microscopic Art Non-Limited International Annual Contest. We hope all of you had a chance to visit our exhibition at Wrocław Market Square. We thank all of you for the incredible number of entries we have received this year.
